Miss Todd

"Miss Todd" is a short, stop-motion, musical animation about the first woman in the world to build and design an airplane. The film was made at the National Film and Television School in England and is inspired by a real person.

Synopsis:
It's 1909, and the whole world is waking to the possibilities of flight. Miss Todd dreams of flying, but she's got more than gravity holding her down. This is the story of her determination, her perseverance, and her passion.

In 2013, 'Miss Todd' won a gold medal at the Student Academy Awards in the Foreign Film Category. It is the first animated film to ever win in this category in the 40 years of the awards. It went on to win several other major awards, including a Royal Television Society Award and an Annie Award Nomination.

The team that created 'Miss Todd' was comprised of students of the National Film and Television School, led by director and animator Kristina Yee.

The film was created using the technique of stop-motion animation. Nearly all effects were done in-camera.
